Environmental awareness and growing pressures about sustainability have driven the packaging industry to fully embrace the circular economy model.<\/strong><\/p>\n

This approach aims to move beyond the traditional logic of the linear model\u2014production, use, and disposal\u2014which relies on heavy resource exploitation and generates massive amounts of waste. Instead, it promotes an innovative vision focused on reducing waste, optimizing resources, and creating value from discarded materials.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The circular economy represents a revolution in the way we produce and consume, based on reuse, recycling, and material regeneration.<\/strong> This model enables the extension of products\u2019 lifecycle, transforming packaging from waste into resources.<\/p>\n

In the food sector in particular, packaging design becomes a critical challenge. The supply chain is called upon to rethink packaging and its lifecycle, turning it into a virtuous resource.<\/p>\n

THE FIVE PRINCIPLES<\/p>\n

The foundation of the circular economy for sustainable material and waste management lies in five core principles:<\/p>\n

- REDUCE <\/u><\/strong>waste by rethinking products to make them recyclable and reusable.<\/p>\n

- REUSE<\/u><\/strong> a product that still functions properly to extend its lifecycle.<\/p>\n

- RECYCLE<\/u><\/strong> scrap material by transforming it into a new substance of equal or lesser quality, enabling new uses while reducing waste, emissions, and the energy required to create new materials.<\/p>\n

- COLLECT<\/u><\/strong> through proper waste sorting to minimize landfill waste and save raw materials and energy.<\/p>\n

- RECOVER<\/u><\/strong> residual waste, such as scrap materials, by recovering and transforming it into secondary raw materials.<\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/p>\n

At Resaplast, we believe that a container becomes waste only if we waste the opportunity to recycle it.<\/strong><\/p>\n
